Understanding the 5 W’s when targeting media contacts

Received recently a mymediainfo-update. Have a look at their email and decide yourself if you go for the trial. Seems to be a good service for the Australian North American market, especially if the journalists-database is accurate. For the German market, I’d recommend Zimpel. Not the cheapest, but always up-to-date and a good start to build your own distribution lists.

MyMediaInfo has expanded the profiles of tens of thousands of journalists to include the Who, What, Where, When and Why. As the media contracts and thousands of changes are happening daily, you will need the most accurate and detailed data available to understand who the key influencers in your industry are. With MyMediaInfo, you can find:

-Contact Information including email and phone
-Twitter profiles and LInkedIn portal
-Detailed profile including previous work history, awards and books written
-Pitching tips
-Headlines and links to recently written articles

All of this data is available in web 2.0 platforms. If you would like to check it out for yourself a, just go to http://www.mymediainfo.com/mymediainfo/trialregister.jsp

  1. Hello from Hamilton,

Are you sure mymediainfo caters to the Australian market? I thought it was targeting the U.S?

    Regards

  2. Did I write Australian market? North American market, of course. Thanks for the hint. And in Australia, we had a contract with Media Monitors, a media monitoring service. Their platform also offers the possibility to search their journalist database. Great tool, as it was directly connected to their clipping service. You could click on the media clipping and pull info about the journalist who wrote the article http://www.mediamonitors.com.au
